Colombia: My New Stress-Free Lifestyle

Midlife is the perfect time to take a step back from the daily grind and explore new paths. For me, that meant leaving the corporate lifestyle in the US and relocating to Colombia. And let me tell you, it has been the best decision of my life.

Colombia is a country of vibrant culture, friendly people, and stunning natural beauty. It’s an ideal place to rediscover yourself, find new passions, and leave behind the stress of yesterday. Now that I’m here, I feel like I have found a true sense of purpose. Life beyond the horizon hardly seemed possible before, but now it’s my reality, and I could not be more grateful.

Discovering the Culture

As much as I love the US, it’s a very work-centric culture, and it’s easy to get lost in it. In Colombia, people are more focused on living their lives fully. They take the time to enjoy the company of their friends and family, and they know how to celebrate life. I have found this lifestyle to be both liberating and refreshing.

The food, music, and dance are all part of the cultural experience. For example, at a typical Colombian party, there will be music and dancing, and everyone is welcome to join. It’s a great way to let loose and have fun – something that I rarely did before.

Exploring the Natural Beauty

Colombia’s natural beauty is awe-inspiring. From the beaches to the mountains, there is so much to explore. I have found that getting out into nature has been incredibly therapeutic for me. The fresh air, the exercise, and the scenery all make me feel alive and present.

I’ve discovered hidden gems tucked away in the countryside, and they have become some of my favorite spots. I’ve hiked through the forest to discover a waterfall, taken a boat ride down a river, and savored the fresh air at a mountain view. These experiences have given me a new appreciation for the world around me.

Learning a New Way of Life

Living in Colombia has taught me new ways to live life. I have learned to slow down, appreciate the moment, and find a better balance between work and life. The stress of the corporate world has been replaced with a sense of contentment and peace.

By immersing myself in a new culture, I have found that I am more open-minded, more patient, and more compassionate. I have learned to look at life from a different perspective, and I am grateful for the experiences that have taught me so much.

If you are considering a new path in life, I would highly recommend exploring other countries like Colombia. The experience has been life-changing for me, and I believe it could be for others as well.
